WE ARE AWARD WINNERS - AGAIN!

It is with significant pride, that EDR Landscape Management Solutions LTD, based in Penketh, Warrington, Cheshire, can announce that they have been selected as Winners of an International Green Apple Award 2022, for their approach to the delivery of a key service contract with Enterprise Rent -a- Car. The contract allows EDR Landscapes to showcase its services throughout a wide geographical area from Northmen Cumbria to the South Midlands and also includes sites throughout Wales. The Award will be presented at an awards ceremony at The Houses of Parliament, Westminster, in November this year.  

The application led to all aspects of the delivery of their grounds maintenance contract with Enterprise Rent-a-Car as well as their entire business set-up, from office staff through to front line services, being assessed by judges from The Green Organisation for both quality of service delivery and environmental best practice.

Specifically, the Judges assessed:

1. Vehicle usage, co2 emissions, transport routes issued to staff and environmental route tracking.

2. Waste disposal methods and percentages of recycled and non recyclable waste generated.

3. Service delivery - standards of the service delivered against the contracted parameters, benchmarked against environmental industry best practice.

4. Operational and environmental best practice (from tool types, power systems, office set up and recycling initiatives, communication methods and effectiveness.

5. Health and Safety management and implementation.

6. Carbon Footprint and successful reduction methods.

EDR Landscape Management Solutions LTD are a family run grounds maintenance provider, employing local people, serving well known commercial brands and domestic clients and are proud to be based in Penketh, Warrington, Cheshire. They actively support their local community through numerous charitable initiatives.  

Established in 2014, the company has gone from strength to strength and is proud of its continual commitment to reducing its environmental impact and supporting the local community whilst delivering a high quality grounds maintenance service, with a key aim of challenging the negative view that some aspects of the landscape management sector has gained.

‘This is the third time that we have won this prestigious award, and I am so proud that the green credentials of our business are worthy of being recognised on an international stage. Especially as our competition are extremely well known brands, local authorities and other international organisation. For us to be chosen, is a real testament to our staff and the way that we continually push ourselves to do better and achieve more. Our own local, close knit community of Penketh are incredibly supportive of us and it is this support that helps us to push ourselves. We are delighted to put Penketh on the ‘Environmental Map!’.  

Our contract with Enterprise Rent-a-car, was a fantastic opportunity for two organisations, with similar aims of delivering a high quality experience for clients, to work together, to deliver something worthwhile. It has provided us with an excellent opportunity to overcome both logistical and operational challenges, as their depots are so numerous and spread throughout a wide geographical area. Clearly when operating over such a wide area, our environmental impact would increase and we were extremely keen to do everything we could to limit that.

I am thrilled that such a stringent judging process and the assessment of almost every aspect of our approach to service delivery has led to us achieving this International award. I am also extremely proud that site based assessments have shown the level of service delivery that my staff achieve. I know how hard they work every single day and recognise entirely the committeemen that they show, both to our business and our clients. My staff, both in the office and front line workers have shown absolute dedication in going the extra mile for our clients and have entirely bought in to our key ambition of reducing the environmental impact of our business. Enterprise are truly exceptional clients, they are a very recognised brand and their quality expectations are, as you would expect, extremely high. As an organisation, they are very keen to demonstrate their own environmental awareness and for that reason, working along side us has been an excellent fit. It is a real pleasure for us to work alongside such a committed and professional team and I hope that we can continue this partnership, working with their exceptional, client focussed staff, for many years to come.

The last few years have not been easy for us. Like a lot of small businesses, the impact of the Covid Pandemic and now the Cost of Leaving Crisis and the cost increases that have come with that, has meant that continuing to operate has been very difficult, it has taken all of our efforts just to keep afloat. The support that we have had from our clients and our local community has allowed us to continue, and for that, I really am genuinely, very grateful. I hope that all of our clients and colleagues can understand how grateful we are to work with them’.

They competed against more than 500 other nominations in the International Green Apple Awards and faced an extremely tough judging process. They will be presented with their trophy and certificate at a glittering presentation ceremony in the Houses of Parliament, London, in November. 

As a result of this International Green Apple Award success, EDR Landscape Management Solutions LTD have been invited to accept Green World Ambassador status and have their winning paper published in The Green Book (the leading international work of reference on environmental best practice) so that others around the world can follow their lead and learn from their achievement. 

This will also entitle them to represent their country in the Green World Environment Awards that are held in a different country every year'

Within the last week, David has met with Jason Black (Group Facilities and Construction Manager - Enterprise Holdings) and Tauseef Ahmad (Group Facilities and Construction Specialist - Enterprise Holdings), to discuss site improvements and new developments at Enterprise Rent a Car depots throughout the UK.

EDR's input ranges from the deliver of a high profile grounds maintenance service, to the assistance in development of appropriate planting schemes, to allow both cost effective maintenance and high visual impact for their clients.

Enterprise Rent - a - Car: Welcome on board!

We are delighted to announce that we have entered into a three year agreement with leading vehicle rental provider Enterprise Rent a Car.  Working with their Directors and Operational Managers to develop their own customised grounds maintenance specification, we have been impressed at their commitment to their outdoor landscape, acknowledging that the condition of their outdoor areas has a direct impact on customer satisfaction and importantly the image of their brand.

We will operate as sole provider of grounds maintenance services to their extensive portfolio of depots within their Northern Region, which extends from the far north of Cumbria, to the South Midlands areas.  We will raise the standards of their existing sites significantly and will work with them on their programme of re development and relocation to provide a valuable consultant service.  We will design and deliver new planting schemes and advise them on aspects of landscape planting and care as part of the planning process.

EDR's Managing Director, David Ramsbottom said, ''We have been working with enterprise for the last three years and have been pleased to assist them in improving a number of their depots throughout the North West.  Working with them to create planting specifications for the planning process has ensured that the right plant types, in the correct locations will provide an attractive back drop for their clients and staff to enjoy, whilst importantly showcasing their brand in the best possible way.  We have analysed the time visitors to their depots spend on site and have provided high impact planting schemes to provide the 'quality' feel that customers seek during their visit.

Expanding our partnership with enterprise significantly, through this new agreement, will provide us with an opportunity to cover a huge geographical area.  They will have one point of contact for all things landscape, which will save them time and money, knowing that with the expertise of my teams, their landscape management is in good hands.

I am proud that this new contract falls in line with our million pound growth strategy, ensuring that we provide more employment for local people and further opportunities to deliver exciting community initiatives through Ellie's community focussed, charitable work.

Our business has doubled in size over the last two years and the commitment and dedication of my staff has been at the forefront of our success.  Working with Enterprise is an excellent fit for us as we both have the same high standards and ambition.  Two businesses working to deliver an exceptional service. 

The next few years will be an exciting and challenging time for EDR Landscapes.  We have a number of new projects on the horizon that will develop an even wider range of services to our clients.

As we approach the end of our seasonal, regular garden maintenance service to domestic clients, things have been hotting up within the commercial side of our business.

After a busy period of contract negotiations, we’re delighted to welcome a number of new Management Companies as contracted Grounds Maintenance clients. 

Providing us with the opportunity to deliver holistic Grounds Maintenance Services, covering every aspect of the management of the outside spaces. 

We’re looking forward to working with the Directors to bring about positive improvements throughout these large apartment and estate complexes.

Director David Ramsbottom said :In order to ensure that our business grows sustainably, we have been working hard to strengthen our offering to commercial clients.  This has meant the purchase of a number of high end pieces of machinery to tackle some of the large open spaces that we now manage.  We have made some key contacts over recent months, which has allowed us to demonstrate our high quality service delivery to some large, national property management companies.    This has resulted in us being awarded several significant grounds maintenance contracts throughout the North West.

We are ensuring that our business grows at a pace that we are comfortable with, conscious that with every job that we deliver, there is a high expectation of a very high quality work outcome.  We manage each piece of work carefully to ensure that as we grow, we still maintain the rigid focus on delivering the best grounds maintenance services within the region.

As ever, I am extremely proud of the way that our team have approached the new challenges.  We have recruited new members of staff to allow us to respond quickly to new work opportunities and have increased our vehicle fleet too.

Our community work remains of key importance to us and we are proud to be working with several local charities and organisations.  We have sponsored this years Christmas Lunch, organised by Penketh and Cuerdley Residents Association, which provides a much needed social function for the Lonely and Vulnerable Elderly within our Community.'
